Hello,
I have this problem like if i go to the "Edit Mail And FTP Users", there i press "Add a user to this server." and then i set FTP Login enabled = Yes. "Subdirectory of server's home" = "domains/mydomain/public_html" "Primary Email address enabled" = No
And i get this error: Failed to save mailbox : Home directory /home/mymaindomain/domains/mydomain/ already exists
System: Centos 4.4 Final Webmin updated to latest (1.300) Virtualmin updated to latest (3.26) I have tryd ProFTPD and vsftpd.
Hey Jaanus,
I believe there's a couple of problems here:
First up, I suspect you're trying to add a user you don't need to add. The domain account gets FTP access by default (assuming the shell you choose is listed in /etc/shells). So, you don't need to create another account just to have FTP access to the domain.
Next up, you're trying to create a user with a home directory that is a domain home which won't work. That's not the way to add more FTP users with domain content access. To add an additional user that can use FTP to access the domain, browse to "Edit Mail And FTP Users" for the domain and click the "Add a website FTP access user." link on the lower/upper right side of the user list.
This user will automatically get appropriate home directory and UID settings for the domain.

Oh, yeah, your problem has no relation to the FTP server being used. Both vsftpd and ProFTPd are supported by Virtualmin (there is a plugin for vsftpd, ProFTPd is natively supported), but this problem is simply one of trying to do something that you can't (and don't need to) do.
