Dav password in dav.digest.passwd file

Dav password in dav.digest.passwd file

I noted that the format in the dav.digest.passwd file is username@xxxx.xxx:xxxx.xxx:password and was wondering if it could be changed to username:xxxx.xxx:password? The xxxx.xxx being the domain.
