Failed to create virtual server

Hi: After some modification ... not which one , in attempting to create a sub -server get the error:

Failed to create virtual server : Failed to work out externally visible IP address

In another forum post I read: ...changed from : "Network interface for virtual addresses" eth0

to

"Network interface for virtual addresses" Detect automatically

but I have a virtualmin message "Virtualmin's configuration has not been checked since it was last updated. Click the button below to verify it now." and when I click Recheck it switches "Network interface for virtual addresses" option back to eth0

so it does not work .... How I can solve the problem?

Howdy,

You may want to view System Settings -> Virtualmin Config -> Network Settings, and make sure the first few options there are set properly for your setup.

Also, if Detect Automatically doesn't work, you may want to try manually setting which network interface it should be using.

Thanks for the reply. I could not try it because other problems I had to reinstall the server .....

here is how to fix it, Virtualmin->System Settings->Virtualmin Configuration->Network Settings-> Default IP address for DNS records >> change it to "Same as virtual server IP"

Having the same issues but i really don't know what IP to use, i tried using y localhost IP but that isn't working either

Try ping to your server, it should show your ip, or use ifconfig to see the ip
