Hello,
I am looking for some basic information regarding the installation and configuration of Virtualmin on a server sitting behind a NAT router (Untangle). I will not be using Virtualmin for DNS [my DNS is handled by AD] or MAIL [handled by Google Apps], only the webserver. I need to host a few intranet sites and a few extranet sites.
So a basic diagram of what I am doing is this. Internet -> Untangle -> LAN SWITCH -> Virtualmin box
Untangle will have static address and forwarding of 80 and 443 to the Virtualmin box.
I plan on using CentOS and splitbrain DNS.
I’ll create zones/records on my internal DNS to point to the internal IP of the webserver and use my hosting company to handle DNS for external.
My internal Active Directory uses “bbc.pri”, and a few of the sites will be internal only using that domain. The other sites will be have TLD domains.
Basically, I am curious what hostname I should choose during installation of CentOS and any other settings that I might need to adjust.
In general, is this design going to work well?
