Using Scientific 6 with GPL Virtualmin.
I am trying to get mcrypt for phpmyadmin, without any luck.
I found a note in here from 2 weeks ago about php-mcript that says, "Hang on a moment, don't do anything with that yet... I may have a better solution for you :-)"
So, is there a better solution coming still?
We were looking into adding the EPEL mcrypt into the Virtualmin repository... but that hasn't happened yet.
However, after speaking with Joe -- installing the PHP mcrypt from EPEL should work for you in the meantime :-)
We haven't tested this, it's all theory... but in theory, it should work to do that :-)
Alternatively, you could just disable the warning message in phpMyAdmin, as mcrypt isn't a required module, it's optional.

Yep, I could, but the people using the server probably will see this as "wow, how stupid is he to leave the mcrypt broken" And when they install their own copy of phpmyadmin, they are sure to ask about it.
Thats what got me started looking at it in the first place. I will play a bit with epel.
