Are there any plans or is there any repo where I can get an Apache 2.4.17+ that supports http2 together with VirtualMin?
The one insstalled from the Virtual Min repo is 2.4.6 and does not support http2 because it's too old. Only versions 2.4.17 or newer do so. Installing a newer build from any repo brings problems with the docroot and building my own Apache seems not to be a good idea, because yum update is no longer working in this case.
I found some older entries here about newer Apache builds, but nothing up-to-date. I think the support of http2 could be a good reason for updating the Apache shipped in the VirtualMin repo.
sudo apache2 -V Server version: Apache/2.4.29 Server built: 2019-07-16T18:14:45
You sure u're running the latest version of Virtualmin?
I have the same here!
I installed Virtualmin on CentOS 7 and Apache was installed from the webmin-repo. I got version 2.4.6 which is the latest version from the Virtualmin-repo. Installing an newer version from CentOS-repo or EPEL failed, because they want to have docroot in /var/www insted of /home on the Virutalmin-environment. Building a own Apache is not an option for me, too. Of course I have everything up to date.
@suskozaver: You have 2.4.29 - what OS are you using? How did you install this version? From repo, virtualmin install script? Where is you docroot?
Ubuntu 18. Installed by default by virtualmin. docroot is /home//public_html
freshly installed Virtualmin on Debian 8.11 = Apache Version 2.4.10
