Clamav ubuntu 16.04 issues

Hello there,

apparently some time back Clamav stopped working it seems, the email are getting stuck in the queue probably due to this?

When i try to enable as shown in the above link, i get this error. +

Configuring and enabling the ClamAV scanning server ..

Starting ClamAV server and enabling at boot ..
Systemd service clamav-daemon cannot be created unless a command is given

I have tried to install and then reinstall clamav but with no resolution.. what else could i do?

Howdy -- we'd probably need Jamie's help to resolve why Virtualmin isn't able to start ClamAV.

However, we can look at why messages are stuck in the queue, and if necessary, temporarily disable the ClamAV feature.

Where are you seeing the messages stuck in the queue, are you seeing those when running the "mailq" command?

If you go to Webmin -> System -> Bootup and Shutdown, what actions whose name contains clam are listed?

After you mentioned it, i started it ..

Starting service clamav-daemon .. Starting clamav-daemon (via systemctl): clamav-daemon.service. .. done. Starting service clamav-daemon.service ..

.. done. Enabling service clamav-daemon at boot time.

Systemd service clamav-daemon cannot be created unless a command is given

Can you post a screenshot of what you see if you click on clamav-daemon on that list?

Hi Jamie, thanks after running bootup command.. clamav seems to be running fine.. that seems to have solved the issue..
