Howdy -- backups will always be named "domain.tld.tar.gz". However, you can use the strftime substitution to put dates in the directory names that are used to store the backups.

For example, if you want your backups tonight to be put into /localdir/backup_2011-06-19, you would use this as the backup destination:

/localdir/backup_%Y-%m-%d/

When using that syntax, make sure you check the "Do strftime-style time substitutions on file or directory name" option.

You can see a full list of option by clicking the "Do strftime-style time substitutions on file or directory name" link on the backup screen.

I'm sorry but I do not think this works. Not for me on centos7

I have a check mark in Do strftime-style time substitutions on file or directory name I have tried these paths: note: in bold are folders already created /mnt/VMbackups/pontiacairpark/backup_domain-%Y-%m-%d
/mnt/VMbackups/pontiacairpark/backup_domain-%Y-%m-%d/

I get error: Starting backup of 1 domains to local file /mnt/VMbackups/pontiacairpark/backup_pontiacairpark-%Y-%m-%d .. Cannot backup multiple domains to /mnt/VMbackups/pontiacairpark/backup_pontiacairpark-2018-04-06, as it is not a directory

My bad I did not have the check on create destination file directory. leave this comment in case someone does not have this checked when trying.

Nevermind, I also found it.

Just one comment that module configuration setting is found before actually entering into the Scheduled Backups page.
