Problems with clamav happen quite regularly on Virtulmin servers and we are used to it, however today was massive failure on all Virtualmin servers we manage. The error is

Running freshclam gives:

Looks like this error is coming from the clamav service?

I seem to have solved this (for now anyway) by deleting /var/lib/clamav/mirrors.dat and then executing freshclam -v . Suggestion discovered by reading FAQ at http://www.clamav.net/documents/official-mirror-faq

awebsite4u, thanks for the solution(for now). That did it for me.

That kind of temporary solutions are good if you have a server or couple. With managing Virtualmin servers on massive scale the issue becomes constant headache and should be properly dealt by Jamie once and for all.
