Hi,
In Virtualmin > Server Configuration > Website options: when I try to change the PHP script execution mode to FCGId, I get the following error:
Failed to save website options : Missing or invalid website documents sub-directory
What's odd is that I have another website configured in the same directory as this one and FCGId is set with no problem. Both sites have the same exact file structure and permissions.
I've searched for this particular error message here and in Google but was unable to find any references to it I am running PHP 5.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi,
I have the exact same issue, have you found a solution ?
Or does somebody have an idea ... ?
Thanks :)
using ubuntu 12.4 - new install but migrated domain from older machine
Failed to save website options : Missing or invalid website documents sub-directory
I am running into this issue on Ubuntu 16.04 with a migrated account. Did either of you find a solution for this?
We upgraded our Ubuntu version and ended up having to rebuild the whole server. Bottom line, that meant we had to import old virtualmin backups into the brand new server. Low and behold we got this same error. Good news is we found a cure that worked for us. The "Website documents sub-directory" was blank. Once we put public_html in that box and hit save, boom, there was no error. Hope that helps anyone else who gets this.
