When you use PHP in Fcgi Mode and you want to change some setting under "FastCGI server and protocol options" virualmin requires an ip adress an port:
Failed to save FastCGI options : FastCGI server must be in hostname:port or IP:port format
With this limitation you can't change settings with in fcgi mode.

This is a Virtualmin bug - it doesn't support fastCGI paths like unix:/path/to/socket . This will be fixed in the next release though.
