Actually for me they did install by default but php5-suhosin did not. I noted that the binary itself is already hardened but the extension (the other twin) was not so I installed it manually. I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 Server. Could you advise us which distro you are running?
or php5-gd? Basic stuff :)

I use Debian, same thing with 32 and 64 packages.
edit: seems php5-suhosin is missing too.
Hmmm, php5-suhosin are missing, still my forum script says server has this:
Apache/2.2.9 (Debian) DAV/2 SVN/1.5.1 PHP/5.2.6-1+lenny8 with Suhosin-Patch mod_ruby/1.2.6 Ruby/1.8.7(2008-08-11) mod_ssl/2.2.9 OpenSSL/0.9.8g
Do i need that php5-suhosin?
edit: no, i dont need it:
"There are actually two ways to load Suhosin, either as a PHP patch or as an extension."
