How to Display Hidden Spam Folder In WebMail

Hello,

The Spam Folder for the users cannot be viewed in webmail using squirrelmail, I even checked usermin its not visible. I can view the .spam folder in virtualmin admin panel for all users. Even in users mail directory I can see the .spam folder created.

Many emails are residing in .spam folder and this folder is hidden for the all users because of which they cannot delete emails ending up with quota being filled.

By the way using Spamassassin as spam filtering tool.

I tried creating new folder in squirrelmail called spam but that doesn't show me mails in spam box. Its just an empty folder.

Help me resolving this issue. Pointers would be great.

Howdy,

Any email folder you have is being accessed via IMAP in Squirrelmail... and the IMAP protocol says that folders shouldn't be available by default -- that instead, they need to be subscribed to.

What you may need to do is go into the Squirrelmail options once you log in, and subscribe to any folders that you aren't able to see by default.

Thanks, actually the problem was that I was using courier as my IMAP server for squrrelmail so there were no folders shown in subscribe list. Now that I have changed it to Dovecot I can see Spam folder and when im subscribing it is showing the emails.

Thanks for the help.

Another issue im facing is with automated email being sent for quota checks. The email is sent but only for some domains and not for all the domains, what can be the problem?

For future reference, it's simpler if you start a new forum topic for additional questions :-)

However, I'm not sure, it's hard to say... are you seeing any errors in the email log?

Also, if the email account gets full before the quota check runs and notices it's close to being full, that could cause trouble too.

If you look in Limits and Validation -> Disk Quota Monitoring, you can tweak how frequently the checks are done and what the thresholds are.

I will remember about making new thread for different issues.

There is no error in maillog.

I have set the threshold and and daily once monitoring. The problem is that it is only checking 2-3 domains out of 45 domains. Since I have a some mail accounts which are 90% filled from past 3 months and I see no warning quota email in that mailbox.

Is there any option where we can set the Virtual Server to monitor? How do we debug this thing?
