Hello.
After running the virtualmin package updater on all virtualmin related packages, I am getting the following error when running the configuration checker:
"Virtualmin is configured to setup DNS zones, but this system is not setup to use itself as a DNS server. Either add 127.0.0.1 to the list of DNS servers, or turn off the BIND feature on the module config page."
This error was not showing up previously. My clients are pointing to my server for DNS resolution, so I assume this might cause impact to their sites?? I don't recall if 127.0.0.1 was in the DNS config or not, is it possible the update removed that entry?
Thanks.
Yeah, the 127.0.0.1 definitely needs to be in there.
An example of something that could have removed that entry is if you are using DHCP -- DHCP can rewrite the resolv.conf file every time it renews your IP address.
You may want to make sure you're not using DHCP, and switch to a static IP. Or, you could configure it to not change your DNS settings.
