Set up servers or subservers?

I just have my own domains on my server.

Should I set up each domain as it's own top level server...?

Or set up one main one and the rest as sub-servers?

Any advantages either way?

If better as subservers, can I still put a few domains on different ips, or would they need to be top level?

Thanks,

Chris

Whatever is most comfortable for you. ;-)

But, when I'm root, I tend to give each domain an account (and the put subdomains under it in sub-servers...e.g. virtualmin.com is the account, and then software.virtualmin.com is a subserver, and then we'd have webmin.com and usermin.com, etc. as additional accounts).

That said, sub-servers have nearly all of the capabilities of virtual servers, including IP address support, so there is no reason to choose top-level, if having everything in one directory and managed by one user is preferable.
