Install Scripts before DNS update (or propagation)

I am preparing to move a domain from cPanel to Vmin Pro. It's still hosted and resolves elsewhere.

Sometimes, instead of doing a migrate, you just want to do a partial move, perhaps by way of housecleaning. I want to use Install Scripts to setup new versions of some apps.

I notice that some script installers fail in this situation, and some succeed.

Specifically, Joomla works, and LimeSurvey fails with: ...only partially complete. LimeSurvey database creation failed...404 not found

and SugarCRM fails with: DBI connect failed: Access denied...

Is there a workaround in this scenario? Could Virtualmin somehow trap this situation, which appears to be something related to looking on the live domain for the paths and database login, and redirect to the local server?
