Problem with Courier pop/imap

Hello,

we have installed Virtualmin on a Debian Sarge machine. It seems the system works fine.

Only one problem ;-)

Wenn we try to connect to the Courier pop3/imap4-Server we see this error:

'-ERR Maildir: No such file or directory', Port: 110, Secure (SSL): Nein, Serverfehler: 0x800CCC90, Fehlernummer: 0x800CCC92

Virtualmin stores the mail under /var/mail/user.domain and /home/mail/user.domain (link?)

There are directories under "/home/domain/mailboxes/user.domain" too - but there are no files inside.

The path "/home/domain/mailboxes/user.domain" is also stored as home-directory in the /etc/passwd by virtualmin.

It seems that virtualmin stores email in traditional Linux-Mailformat (one file, readable by vi), but courier expects the maildir-Format.

Actually i have no solution for this problem. Can anybody help us? :-)

Thank you and have a nice day.

Hey Mattis,

This is all configurable. Just switch your Virtualmin configuration to use Maildir (you'll also have to do it for Postfix/Sendmail/QMail). Problem solved. ;-)

This works fine, and is the default in Virtualmin Professional (not Courier, though...we use Dovecot for POP/IMAP).
