Webmin

Hello,

Is it normal for webmin to be using so much memory now? It didn't use this much with the GPL virtualmin.

They appear to be bundled in a lot of ways now. So I'm wondering it has anything to do with it.

I hope I'm not asking too many questions or dumb ones but; as a new setup with the pro version I am merely trying to familiarize myself to what's normal / what's not.

I get a: Perl module Authen::PAM needed for PAM is not installed : Can't locate Authen/PAM.pm in @INC

error as the next line after every: miniserv.pl started

To refresh your memory about my system setup. Fedora 6 with a fresh base install then updating everything with yum and then an install.sh with virtualmin.

I've installed Webmin and everything is working fine besides the part of enabling SSL. I followed the HOWTO on Webmins website(http://www.webmin.com/ssl.html) on howto install OpenSSL and Net::SSLeay Perl module. Everything compiled and installed with no errors.

On Step#7 it says to enable/turn on SSL look for 'SSL Encryption' under Webmin, click on it an choose enable/disable BUT, i cant see any option saying 'SSL Encryption' :/

Am i going blind? Can someone help please?

I recently secured my /tmp partition, and now I get an error when I try to view the user permissions in mysql from the webmin panel. The exact error is:

SQL desc user failed : Can't create/write to file '/tmp/#sql_331d_0.MYI' (Errcode: 13)

any idea how to get around this?

I'm sorry if i missed the question elsewhere, but if i buy an unlimited license, can i easily change the OS in a later stadium?

When I create a virtual server with virtualmin pro the web site is added to the monitor page but it always shows the site to be down. The site is up and accessible.

Is there something I need to do so it will report the true status of the web site.

Hi.

I am trying to figure out how to troubleshoot my Webmin installation.

I am running FBSD 4.9, Webmin 1.280. and using Perl 5.8.8. During the install it looks like everything went fine. No errors. I can see the pid and checked, it is listed when I do a ps -auxwww |grep http command. I installed the Webmin so that it should be trying to use ssl. I checked on the ports and it shows that port 10001 is listening.

However, when I try to connect, I just get a gateway timeout.

I have been following this walkthrough on setting up a Linux server. http://www.howtoforge.com/lamp_installation_ubuntu6.06 and everything was going good until I had to change my listening port from 80 to 8080.

Well, after I turned off Apache2, I could not get it back on.

When I try to load apache, I get the following error.

Is it 'fair' to ask about webmin oss here? Since I'm a licensed Virtualmin Pro user, I hope so...

Module install issues on Webmin "minimal"

Installed from webmin-1.300-minimal.tar.gz

Installing modules: 1. Standard modules dialog Webmin/Webmin Configuration/Webmin Modules - installing Standard Modules - List of modules is not in alphabetical order

2. Standard module grub can not be installed due to dependency loop

I have just installed Fedora Core 5 - I notice that this OS is not explicitly listed on the Webmin site in Supported Operating Systems. Can anyone advise ?
