Webmin

Hi,

i am facing issue while login at ftp a/c... logs show following in /var/log/message USER testadmin: Login successful

but i am getting connection reset with login failed in ftp client. i tried filezilla / wx-ftp and windows default by cmd i am getting same problem.

so let me know the process of create ftp user and login problem

i am unable to see 21 port is open by doing netstat -n but i can see by netstat -a tcp 0 0 :ftp *: LISTEN

I want to enable the allow_transfers directive globally on my server to restrict zone transfers to my server only, but I can no longer find the menu where I can put in these addresses...

I added the directive directly to the named.conf, but I can't find any other way to manage it.

Seems like restricting zone transfers would be a good default install option for virtualmin/webmin.

I have fixed the zone default file, but that doesn't change named.conf.

Am I overlooking it somewhere? Centos 5, Webm 1.36, VM 3.44

Dear all,

I just have installed the latest version of webmin 1.360 on my debian server. I'm able to start webmin on https://my_ip:10000, but i want to create a symbolic link to the login page. so i can link a button to it.

this is what i mean: ln -s {target dir/file} /var/www/site

I don't know the file where to start(the main/start page of webmin).

Can anyone tells me the file where https://my_ip:10000 starts, so i can link it.

It has been almost a week and yet again the new rpm packages have not been updated for both webmin and usermin.

I keep harping about this simply for the fact that when we bought and install virtualmin the install script insisted on installing webmin from the urpmi repo.

If you are not going to update webmin and usermin in the repositories then please remove that from the install scripts. It is pointless to install a old version when a new one will be installed the minute you go check for updates.

If I don't want to use my server as a name server, what do I do to turn it off? Do I just click on Stop BIND button at System Information page?

Hi all. I'm trying to get Webalizer to use my local time zone when generating web traffic reports, and I'm using the Virtualmin/Webmin interface to configure it.

I see there is a setting for UTC and a setting for GMT, but there doesn't seem to be any way to specify the offset. Does anyone know how to do this? Can it even be done?

Seems there may be a bug in IE7 or a setting I cannot find. When using the file manager module it cannot find the FileManager.class, works fine in other IE versions and browsers.

Any advise would be helpful.

I have a problem, when I try the afnic check to see if I my computer is well configured for a given domain name, and then I have the following error message (in french, sorry, this is afnic you know) :

"Le serveur n'écoute pas ou ne répond pas en UDP sur le port 53"

So this message means the server does not listen or answer in UDP with port 53.

Any idea what happened, and how I can make it work?

I guess bind is launched, because webmin tells me it is, even that I do not see named when I do a ps auwww.
