does the virtualmin backup include networking settings of the server?

Howdy -- thanks for contacting us!
It essentially can restore things setup within Virtualmin itself (though not necessarily in Webmin).
That is, it wouldn't restore a network interface like eth0, with a subnet/broadcast/gateway.
But, private IP addresses that are added through Virtualmin, and end up as network aliases -- those can be restored (though doing so is optional, and you can specify on the restore backup screen whether that's what you want or not).
