Hi Jamie, We followed the documentation on http://www.virtualmin.com/documentation/cloudmin/iscsi but so far getting the following error. We are using cloudmin pro.
creation failed : iSCSI disk creation failed : iSCSI server is not running on
and we are not able to see the manage disks option under Resources. We have also added the iscsi connection to the server using cloudmins Iscsi client option under Webmin>hardware but so far no success. Please guide us.
your help would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Do you have an iSCSI sever registered at System Storage -> iSCSI Servers?
Also, are you getting that error when adding a disk, or when adding a virtual system?

Hi Jamie. Thank you for the prompt reply.
We have iscsi server registered at System Storage -> iSCSI Servers. actually we are using the server itself as storage and master cloudmin. So basically we have Node 1 and Node 2 as current users of this master cloudmin which is node3 used as a storage as well
We are getting the error when creating a KVM instance on node 1 or node 2. and clicking on the "Start iscsi server" button under Webmin>hardware>iscsi server. doesnt seems that it starts the iscsi server. Though I am able to start iscsi by using the command "service iscsi start" from terminal cloudmin still shows the same error when i try to create KVM instance, the error is as follows
Creating virtual system with KVM .. .. creation failed : iSCSI disk creation failed : iSCSI server is not running on server-ip

iscsi server under "System Storage -> iSCSI Servers" is registered as follows
Server hostname Base for new disks Current users
node3 Directory /kvm Not used by any hosts
server-ipaddress Directory /kvm node1, node2
both of the above are the same machine

Ok, so it looks like the issue is that Cloudmin doesn't detect the iSCSI server as running even though it is.
Which Linux distribution and version is the iSCSI server machine running?

yes and the manage disks option is not appearing under "resources" section. We are using Centos release 6.5. kernel linux 2.6.32.431.23.3.el6.x86_64

So on the remote iSCSI server, is the
iscsi-target
daemon running? If so, does it's PID appear in the file/var/run/iscsi-target.pid

yes the iscsi-target daemon is running "service tgtd status" tgtd (pid 1895 1892) is running... and in /var/run/iscsi-target.pid i see "1963" only.

Ok, I was able to login and fix the problem - your iSCSI server configuration file was invalid, as it contained some targets that didn't exist. Not sure where they came from.
BTW, why are you using iSCSI on a single host system?

thank you very much jamie. really appreciate your time. we will be adding more systems later. we are just testing for now. i am getting another error when creating the instance. any help on that please.
creation failed : Failed to create script /kvm/test1.cloudmin.example.com-eth0.sh : scp: /kvm/test1.cloudmin.example.com-eth0.sh: Read-only file system
i changed the properties to read/write but still i am receiving the same error.
after a reboot i am still getting the following error.
"creation failed : iSCSI disk creation failed : iSCSI server is not running on (server)" this error is coming again after a system reboot.
